Kultur, Tourismus und Messebetriebe Zwickau GmbH (Kultour Z.) is a wholly owned subsidiary of the city of Zwickau. In addition to the event venues Sparkassen-Arena, Konzert- und Ballhaus "Neue Welt" and Freilichtbühne, Kultour Z. also includes the marketing department, the tourist information office with several ticket shops, the trade fairs and exhibitions department, and the market management department responsible for marketing and renting public spaces.

The Zwickau Tourist Information Office is the central point of contact for visitors, locals, and partners of the tourism region. We provide advice, facilitate connections, network, and showcase the strengths of our city and the region. Our tasks are aligned with the quality and structural guidelines of the Saxony State Tourism Association (LTV).

For our Tourism and Events division, we are seeking a leader who can further develop Zwickau as a destination for experiences and travel. Ideally, someone with a fresh, external perspective.

This is what you can expect

Leadership and control

• You will lead the business unit strategically and operationally and develop it further.

• You lead, promote and motivate a team of 10 employees.

• They are responsible for the planning, budget, controlling and results of the department.

• They build sustainable networks with partners from tourism, culture, business, politics and administration, in Zwickau, the region and at the state level.

• They manage and further develop the Zwickau Tourist Information office as well as two ticket shops for event and cultural tickets.

• They shape the collaboration with destination management organizations, tourism service providers and regional and national partners.

• They develop tourist offers as well as marketing and sales projects that make Zwickau and the region better known and more attractive.

Events

• They strategically develop the city's event spaces, formats, and event calendar.

• They design and are responsible for our own events in this business area, from Christmas markets and themed markets to music events.

• They market and rent event spaces to external organizers, negotiate terms of use, and conclude rental and event contracts.

• They coordinate dates, resources and budgets for events and venues.

What you bring with you

• A completed degree in tourism, event or cultural management, business administration, marketing or a comparable field

• Several years of professional experience in the tourism, event, culture or service sector

• Leadership experience as well as experience in managing projects and budgets

• Strategic and economic thinking and a structured way of working

• Security in digital marketing and social media (social media tools); experience with ticketing systems is a plus

• Ideally, knowledge of event law (e.g., assembly venue regulations) and experience in raising third-party funds.

• Good English skills

• The willingness to continuously familiarize oneself with legal and market-related developments in the industry.

City Guide Wanted

Wide variety, great interest—our city tours are becoming increasingly popular

In recent years, our city tours have become increasingly popular. Starting with the introductory tour, which tourists often use as a way to kick off their visit to Zwickau and get a first impression of the city, we have added numerous new themed tours over the years.

For example, follow in Luther’s footsteps, learn more about the life and work of Robert Schumann, discover the dark side of Zwickau, or travel back with us to the 12th century. This is just a small selection of the guided tours we offer.

The variety of offerings is constantly growing, as is the interest—and not just among tourists. More and more Zwickau residents are also eager to learn more about their city, its notable figures, and its history. You can find our offerings for different age groups at www.zwickautourist.de.

In order to continue meeting the steadily increasing demand and further expand our services, we are always looking for new tour guides (m/f/d).
